Good but could be better July 15, 2010 B This is good game playing is fun the arcade games are really fun and the career mode is really good idea but it takes to long to up the ranks of amateur then pro even if your playing on it for ages and winning all the time (very disappointing).
The online play is rubbish if you want to play tennis online get Grand Slam Tennis it's way better for that.
Other than those 2 problems it's very good.
SO MUCH FUN. Such an underrated game. July 8, 2010 Jason C. Consolacion (New York, NY) Great game. Hard to find at most GameStops nowadays. I'm told that Sega didn't receive many preorders for this game, so they didn't produce a lot of copies. But once word got around how awesome and fun Virtua Tennis 2009 is, the game flew off the shelves. Now, it's only available online or as a used copy. I remember playing this game when the original Sega Dreamcast came out. It was fun then and it's more fun now. Game play is (mostly) realistic, with players taking a second to gather themselves after running down a drop shot or racing across the baseline. Players' strengths are also pretty accurate (Roddick's service game, Nadal's strength and speed, Federer's all-around ... -ness). It's missing the fifth star in my rating for accuracy's sake. When playing in what is meant to be the All England Club at Wimbledon, the players aren't wearing all-white, as is tradition. They should have included that in the game. Other than that, Virtua Tennis 2009 IS AWESOME!!!
A Great Tennis Sports Game For Any Sports Fan June 30, 2010 Rich (CA) I see a lot of low reviews for the game but once you give the game a shot it really turns out to be truly entertaining and fun to play. The graphics for the players are so-so not the worse and not the greatest but trust me there is worse out there in sporting games and what Sega has done for the graphics for the character players and tournament fields is very nicely done. Just remember if you're expecting incredible graphic details of the characters like with the Uncharted games or Splinter Cell Conviction than of course you'll be disappointed with the game but if you keep a open mind about what the game is and what it can do than trust me you'll definitely have more fun with the game...
I think Virtua Tennis 2K2 (Dreamcast) is better June 24, 2010 Colecionador BR (Brasil) A good game, no doubt about this. But there's some problems with the graphics (strange walking, face's texture etc), for a HD game (720p). Unfortunately, for me the 2009 version is not so fun, especially if you compare to "Virtua Tennis 2K2", for Dreamcast, the best arcade tennis ever. I'd like to know "Top Spin 3" for a just comparison. (Excuse my bad English)
